Top 10 Indianapolis Wedding Venues
Top 10 Indianapolis Wedding Venue Recommendations
After shooting over 100 weddings, I have developed a list of my the top 10 venues for weddings in Indianapolis. While certainly not a fully-comprehensive list, each of these venues are ones I have experienced first hand and would highly recommend. You’ll find links to the venues, their coordinators/contacts, and general information to help you decide if one of them might work for your wedding. Above all, I recommend finding a place that will fit your wedding guests comfortably, one you get a good ‘vibe’ when visiting, and one that fits your budget.
I encourage you to leave comments about other venues I may have left out that you feel should make the cut!
Located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, the Scottish Rite Cathedral sits between Meridian St and Illinois and offers a state-of-the-art Theater for your wedding ceremony and a beautiful wooden ballroom for your reception. For information on rates, click here. You can also contact the Ashley Long, the Scottish Rite Events Manager, at email@example.com.
Also located in Downtown Indianapolis is the Mavris Arts & Event Center. This is a very nice venue that offers both indoor and outdoor locations for ceremonies and receptions. You can get in touch with the Mavris by clicking here.
The Rathskeller (also known as the Athenaeum for all you Germans out there) is a 19th Century Building in Downtown Indianapolis that boasts an astonishing 7 different rooms that can be used for guest counts anywhere from 50-500. The Dameverein seats up to 90 guests, the Anthenaeum Theater on the 2nd floor seats up to 300 with a dance floor, and the Grand Kellersaal Ballroom sits up to 500, just to name a few. It is a beautiful venue inside and is in prime location for getting pictures taken downtown. It is also within walking distance to the Veteran’s Memorial Park that offers a lot of photo opportunities.
Oak Hill Mansion is located on the North Side of Indianapolis near Carmel, Indiana. It offers locations both indoor and outdoor for ceremonies and receptions. You can get more information by clicking here.
The Crowne Plaza Hotel at Historic Union Station is a premier venue right in the heart of Downtown Indianapolis near Lucas Oil Stadium and the Circle Center Mall. It is a great venue with a beautiful ballroom (see picture below). I would highly recommend you check out this venue if you’re looking for a classy, elegant-style wedding (ceremony and/or reception).
7. Ritz Charles
The Ritz Charles is located in Carmel, Indiana off Meridian Street. It is a great venue if you’re expecting to have less than 275 guests. Ritz has its own Chapel along with a reception center next door so that guests can easily go from the ceremony to the reception. For more information, you can contact Sarah Godby at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Butler is such a great place for an outdoor wedding (though they do indoor weddings too). It offers a variety of picture opportunities within a small campus. If your wedding is on a Saturday and during the Summer, this is a great location! School is out so there is minimal activity on campus and Saturday’s are especially quiet. You can get more information by going here.
10. Pipers Cafe
I hope this list helps give you an idea of some of my favorite venues and who to contact if you’re considering one of them. Feel free to contact Brendan if you have specific questions or would like further recommendations.
